Juma Opera is an upscale, historic boutique hotel located in the historic center of Manaus, opposite the Amazonas Theater, the city main tourist spot. Almost neighboring the hotel are also the Palace of Justice and the Church of São Sebastião, contemporary architectural jewels to the Amazonas Theater, both from the late 19th century.
Designed by renowned architect Roberto Vinograd, the hotel is designed to harmonize with the historic buildings of the square in which it is located. Part of its construction is also from this period and is listed by IPHAN - Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage. In the overturned property was hosted the American President Theodore Roosevelt on his expedition through the Amazon with Marshal Rondon in the early twentieth century.
With 41 spacious rooms, Juma Ópera prioritizes guest comfort in accommodations decorated by award-winning architect Débora Aguiar. All rooms have acoustic treatment on their doors and windows, and most have direct views of the Amazonas Theater. Bathrooms are very large and some have bathtubs. Given the sustainable practices of the venture, hot water is heated by solar energy.
The Juma Opera lobby features a very pleasant seating area with arched doorways offering a touch of nostalgia for contemporary, rustic décor. The hotel bar is between the lobby and the restaurant, serving both. Outside there is a charming terrace with comfortable chairs and armchairs for the tourist who wants to have a drink. The restaurant, in turn, has a unique structure in the shape of a hybrid dome that blends steel plates with glass, also offering a great view of the Theater. The specialty of the cuisine is contemporary Amazonian and classic cuisine, with its indigenous fish and delicacies signed by award-winning Chef Sofia Benelak.
In the rooftop is the hotel swimming pool, plus a poolside bar and a small event area. With glass railing around the whole area, the view of the theater and its surroundings. In the background, you can see even the Rio Negro!
